“In the five years Congress has done nothing except for spreading the poison of Vote Bank Politics”

Narendra Modi addressed huge rallies yesterday on 17th April in Nana Podhan- Kaprada, Lambdi- Dahod and Bharuch. In these rallies he asked people to remove Congress Government from the power for creating blocks in the way of Gujarat's development.

He was very well applauded by the aadivasi people. He attacked the Congress party and criticized party's announcement of providing wheat at 3 rupees per Kg. He asked people that in the rule of five years why couldn't the Congress party remember the welfare of poor people. Gujarat Government from last seven years has provided wheat at 2 rupees per kg to poor people. He asked poor people to decide that which government they want to come in power, the congress party or the BJP party. On asking this question, most of the people in the rally raised their hands in the favor of BJP Party.

He stated that in 55 years of the rule of the Congress party, it has failed to relate to the anguish of the poor and aadivasi people. He commented Atal Bhira Bajpayee's government had worked on giving a life of respect to Aadivasi people. In Gujarat, BJP Government has come up with Van Bandhu Yojna, in every district it has started Science high Schools and has started 3 Nursing schools so that girls and boys are given the opportunity to become Doctors, Engineers and Pilots.

He asked people, what has Congress Government given to them. He also criticized Prime Minister on increasing the Sugar rates. He commented that in the five years Congress has done nothing except for spreading the poison of Vote Bank Politics. He appealed to the people to remove the ruling Government in Delhi, and vote for BJP and NDA government.

Common man’s life not safe. Constant fear of terrorism in the rule of Congress party.

Narendra Modi addressed huge rallies in Iqbal Ghat, Khed Bhrama and Kheralu on 19th April Sunday in Gujarat. He told to the people that coming election has given us the opportunity to free the country from the rule of Congress Party.

Addressing rallies in North Gujarat in Banaskantha district he mentioned that Congress party has not done anything in favor of poor people. All it has done is played the Vote Bank politics to be in power.

He stated that from the time that Congress Party has come into power in Delhi, inflation rate has only increased, poor people are not able to cook one time meal and their children go to sleep without food. He stated common man lives his life in constant fear and Congress is playing the game of corruption through Vote Bank politics. Congress states that Muslims have the first right on the wealth of the nation, whereas BJP states poor people have the first right on the wealth of the country.

He stated that five years have gone by and the economy has been affected badly, lots of people have lost their job, farmers are running in debt, life of innocent people is in danger and therefore Congress party should be removed from the throne in Delhi. All the people raised their hands in support to BJP.

He mentioned after BJP coming in power in last 7 years, Gujarat state has made tremendous progress and has provided lots of required facilities such as water, electricity, roads, education and health care. He stated that if BJP comes to power in Delhi it will not make four stands to support its chair but it will certainly make four stand facilities for the poor people. He appealed to the people to remove the Congress party and vote for BJP party.

Congress government’s Vote bank politics has eaten up the country like termite.

Narendra Modi was in Saurashtra on 20th April to campaign for BJP election. He attacked the Congress Party and termed it as “weak Prime minister and helpless government”. He said Sonia Gandhi's Delhi Government has failed completely in enhancing the well being of the nation.

In Div, Junagadh and Rajulama he addressed huge rallies and mentioned that whether it is the question of security in the country or unemployment Congress government has failed to leave up to the faith shown by the people in the party in the last five years. Congress government's vote bank politics has eaten up the country like termite. BJP has worked on the politics of development and created new model for economic development.

One family ruling the country is the weakest point of Congress Government; moreover the party does not seem to be interested in working for the benefit of the people. On the other hand for BJP benefit of the people comes first, party has clear intention on working for the security of the country and we have a decision making minister like L K Advani, he mentioned.

He expressed his views to the people of the nation and said that the people have already taken the decision to elect the BJP party that works on the politics of development and in the benefit of the people. He commented that this election is the destiny maker of the people of the India and people have already taken the decision and on 16th May Congress party will know the democratic decision of the people.

He said that country will develop and people will feel secure in the rule of L K Advani. In Rajula, he attacked Congress party on doing injustice towards Gujarat state. He stated that it has made blocks in the way of development for the state. Congress party and government in Delhi did not agree on providing the gas for Pipavava Vijwi Mathak and has obstruct the development of Saurashtra.

Addressing rallies in Div, he mentioned that in Pakistan Talibani's have reached Karanchi, and for the security of the Gujarat and the coastal region it has done nothing and it has never uttered even a word on the coastal security and to fight against terrorism with zero tolerance, can we trust the Congress party he asked.

Under L K Advani’s leadership we will form a government that will work towards country’s development and will give the people their dues

Narendra Modi was in Central Gujarat on 21st April, to strengthen the BJP election campaign. He asserted that the Congress Government has done great injustice to Gujarat and has put road blocks in the way of its development and hence its rule is about to end in this election. In Delhi, Under L K Advani’s administration we will form a government that will work towards Gujarat’s development and will give the people their dues, he said.

He addressed huge rallies in kathlal, kalol, Savli, Khambhat, limbdi, and Sanand. A large audience had gathered to hear the speech. He mentioned that in the rule of five years in Power Congress government enjoyed the power but has failed to work towards the betterment of the country. Congress not willing to give up the vote bank politics and will not be able to accept the politics of development.

People are eagerly waiting to know why Congress Party is not able to bring back the black money to the country, he said. Congress party plays the politics of Vote banks and is unwilling to accept the supreme courts verdict of a death statement on Afzal Guru.

People of Gujarat have decided that they are not going to accept Congress Government in Delhi any more and want to bring L K Advani’s Government in power which will help Gujarat state to develop. He stated in five years Congress Government has not done anything in the benefit of poor people, failed to provide employment opportunity to the youths and has messed up the economic development of the country.

Congress aims only for Power whereas BJP aims to serve the nation.

Narendra Modi campaigned for BJP election in North Gujarat yesterday on 22nd April. He clearly differentiated the interests of BJP party and Congress Party and asked people to take the decision. Congress aims only for power whereas BJP aims to serve the nation. He appealed to the people to Vote for L K Advani and BJP and form a government that will do justice to Gujarat’s development.

He addressed huge rallies in Randhanpur, Unjha and Edar of North Gujarat. He said, Congress party and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh are unsuccessful in giving the account of the work done for poor people. In 60 years of the Congress’ rule, since independence instead of working for the betterment of the country it has used Vote bank politics for creating monopoly of one family’s rule. He asked people to have faith in the BJP Party and L K Advani and bury the vote bank politics and remove it from the throne in Delhi.

He also addressed rallies in Kesho, Veraval, Padra and Baroda. He commented that SRP (Sonia, Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi) should asked for votes on the account of the work done by the party and not just by making Pot-shots on L K Advani and Narendra Modi. He said people have no faith in the Congress Party.

Hindutva & development not contradictory: Narendra Modi

Much as he would not want to acknowledge it, Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi remains BJP’s star campaigner. By the time the last of the campaign run ends on May 14, he would have addressed over 225 rallies and meetings, more than any other leader either in his party or among his opponents. In an Interview, he tells ET why his party is a better bet at governance and elaborates on LK Advani’s charge that Manmohan Singh is the weakest prime minister India has had.

There is a general feeling that this is an issue-less election. And that the campaign is all about competitive mud-slinging.

The first round of election has proved the pundits wrong. There was 60% polling. The electorate has given a fitting answer to those who say that there is no issue or interest in the election. People of this country want change. They want to get rid of a government which waffles. On all important issues that confront the country, Manmohan Singh’s responses were uncertain, reluctant, tentative and irresolute. People will deliver the knockout blow because they want a government that performs. People want a government that will provide security.

What is your party’s big message in this election. Is your party able to sway the electoral mood?

The voters’ reflexes are governed by three issues. Firstly, they are fed up with the vote bank politics of our rivals. Secondly, they are angry with the government for lack of basic development. And thirdly, there is revulsion against the Centre for its failure to protect them. Things are going south with security and economy. The credibility issues surrounding the Manmohan Singh government are real and lasting.

In your campaign speeches, Hindutva issues figure as prominently as development. Is it because you are not sure whether non-Hindutva issues connect with people?

When I talk about the development initiatives undertaken by my government, people connect with me. They know that I am not indulging in empty rhetoric. The state has been flourishing under the BJP rule. People, who are the stakeholders, are happy with our performance. And they are bound to question the governance of those in power at the Centre. The Manmohan Singh government has a shabby and dishonourable track record.

Hindutva and development are not contradictory. How can Ram Rajya be anti-development? Ram Rajya is all about providing opportunity for those who need help. What should be on the nation’s top drawer is the resolve to redeem Gandhiji’s pledge to wipe out every tear from every eye. And that is Ram Rajya all about. Only pseudo secularists argue that Hindutva and development cannot coexist. It only exposes their perverted thinking.

Is “weak prime minister” really the issue in this election. The incumbent and the challenger are engaged in a slinging match.

When Mr Advani talks about the weak prime minister, he is not talking about Manmohan Singh’s physical fitness. We are talking about the lack of credibility of the office that he occupies. We are concerned about the devaluation of the highest office in the country. What can be more pathetic than his own ministers saying that he can’t lead the next government even before he has ended his tenure.

There are three reasons for this sorry state of affairs. One, the prime minister is not an elected person, he is nominated. When a person is elected, he is accountable to his electorate, but when he is nominated, his only concern will be to protect the interest of the person who nominated him. Two, when a person occupies a post after going through the democratic process, he strengthens democracy. But if he is selected by a dynasty, it only strengthens the dynasty. Third, a person elected by people will do everything to ensure that he or she continues to enjoy the goodwill of people. But if you are selected by the Sonia parivar, what matters to you will be the support of Sonia parivar.

Do you agree with the view that no party’s support is very deep at this point and that the BJP would find it difficult to form a government?

There is a pattern in the media analysis. You look at what the pundits had said about the outcome of past five elections. When elections are announced, they tell us that it’s an issue-less election. And when candidates are announced, they tell us that there is no enthusiasm. When the campaign is into the second week, they say that no party will get a clear majority and in the last week, they will be all over print and TV discussing what the President should do after the election. Frankly, they should take a break.

So you are ruling out the third front emerging as a major player?

I don’t think the third front will make any substantial gains. The Left will not be in a position to be the moral guardians of this front. The Left is facing stiff challenge in their strongholds. People are fed up with their misery mongering politics. I agree that regional parties cannot be wished away. And national parties will have to take care of regional aspirations.

You are BJP’s most sought after campaigner. What will be your role after the polls?

NDA will form the government. Advaniji will become the prime minister. And my state, which is being subjected to step motherly treatment, will get its due. There will be more development in Gujarat.

Your rivals are of the view that post-Godhra riots in Gujarat will come in the way of you playing a role on the national scene...

It has stopped bothering me for two reasons. One, I don’t have any personal ambitions. Second, it is a bread and butter issue for my rivals. Name calling is a favourite sport for some politicians. Not a single allegation has been proved. Manmohan Singh has been controlling the government for the past five years. Wouldn’t he have acted against me if there was any proof to substantiate their charges?

PM silent on black money and secret accounts: Modi

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Monday claimed that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had maintained silence on the issue of black money and secret accounts deliberated during the G-20 summit.

“The developed countries for the first time passed a resolution at the G-20 summit saying that they will impose economic restrictions and build up pressure against those countries who fail to declare on making black money and secret accounts public. But Manmohanji remained silent on the issue,” Mr. Modi claimed addressing a public meeting here.

The G-20 in its London summit last week had threatened to “name and shame” countries which are reportedly tax havens and decided to crack down on non-cooperative jurisdictions.

Questioning the alleged silence of the prime minister on the money which was lying in the secret accounts, Mr. Modi said he wondered whom Manmonhan Singh wanted to protect by not supporting on the issue.

He said around Rs 70 lakh crore money from India was stashed in financial institutes overseas including Swiss banks.

The Gujarat chief minister also said if Advani is voted to power, he would bring back such the money and utilize it for the betterment of the poor.

Mr. Modi alleged that every Congress leader, including Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy had become “upset” and lost their sleep over the issue.
